Pete & Molly [A Letchworth State Park Session]

These two are self proclaimed “non picture people”. They aren’t fond of getting their pictures taken, and you could tell in the beginning of their session that they were a bit uncomfortable about the whole thing. Well, because they told me they were, but also because they were a bit stiff and unsure of themselves. But by the end of the session, they were like pros, and Pete told me that he actually had a good time, which he wasn’t expecting. So, kudos to all three of us for making our session happy 🙂

Pete & Molly wanted to use the session to announce their pregnancy to their friends. Pete is really into hunting, so Molly wanted to use that as part of the announcement–she bought a cute sign to use, and I think that definitely made it more meaningful and important to Pete.

The ride to Letchworth wasn’t pleasant for me. I fact, it was downright torture. Thankfully, I left early enough to allow for the problems I ran into–I wanted to get there a good deal ahead of time since I wasn’t familiar with the area. It was about an hour and a half drive for me. My GPS though, decided that it wanted to take me to a location that didn’t exist. It tried to take me through one side of the park to get to the other side (separated by a very big gorge), and turns out, there was no way through. I didn’t realize this until 15 minutes into the park–and then I had to head 15 minutes back out of the park, just to drive around the park to the south side. But before I got there, my phone tried to take me in through several other non existent locations. I literally could NOT get into the park. It was the most bizarre thing. It took me about 50 minutes to figure out where I was finally going, and I still arrived 15 minutes early. Phew!  The way out was much easier, thank goodness.

Also, it turned out that Molly and I had a similar background.  I like to chat with people to make them feel more comfortable. . . we talk about interests and all sorts of things. Molly played volleyball in high school and college . . . we knew a lot of the same people. And it was so funny to learn that we actually coached at the same club for a couple years after we graduated college. She knew so many people that I did! I can’t believe we had never met before our session.  So funny.

Congratulations, Pete and Molly! May your little man bring you many happy years when he arrives!
