Party Like it’s 1999!

I remember back to that year. 1999. The year I graduated from High School. Of course, it only makes sense to have a theme song so perfect for the specific situation. We all hummed it to ourselves with glee. We’re gonna party like it’s 1999. Because, of course, it was 1999. And graduating from high school was cause for great excitement. There’s just something about the end of a school year that brings so much giddiness to all involved. The kids. The teachers. (Well, maybe not some parents). But closing the chapter on a year of great learning, and opening up the doors wide for summer is the best feeling in the world. There’s nothing quite like summer days, especially if we learn to party like it’s 1999.

We’re gonna fish. We’re gonna swim. We’re gonna make us some s’mores a few times a week in the backyard. We’re going to eat popsicles until we turn into a popsicle. Go on a couple of short, fun trips. Have some family visit. Play tennis. Play golf (I hope). Smile a lot. Probably be bored a lot. Read lots of books. Run through the sprinkler. Pick some strawberries. Blueberries. Cherries.  Go to the beach. Get some sun. Have family movie nights. Put up the projector in our yard and have a drive-in movie night. Run around barefoot. Have play dates. We just can’t wait.
