Our Next Steps

Well, it’s nearly official. James and I have sold our house. There are a couple of issues with this–first being that I’m sad that it sold (secretly I was hoping that it never would, and we’d just have to take it off of the market!). Second, we know the people who are buying it, so that makes it a little odd and awkward. Third, we have to be out by January 31st. Now, for those of you who are aware at how fast time is flying by, you will know that to find a house that we love and close on it in seven short weeks is going to be a little tricky, if not impossible. We are so blessed though, because we’ve had some people already open up their homes and offer a place for us to stay if there is any kind of overlap between when we have to move out and when we will move into a new place. God is good! So, now begins the exhausting task of sifting throught the over 1,500 houses that are listed right now on Nothnagle’s website to find the one house that we can settle into next 🙂 I’m growing quite used to house hunting, since this will be our third one in our marriage (and we’ve only been married five years!). Actually going to visit the houses, while being the most important part, is definitely time consuming. We’ve looked at nine houses in the past two days! Thank the Lord also for another set of great friends, the Shipp’s (the people I babysit for) have so graciously taken Brayden both of those nights for a few hours while we trapsed around West Irondequoit in search for our dream home. Brayden loved it. . . he got to keep hanging out with his pals Addie and Hayden. 🙂 I’m interested to see what this weekend has in store for us! Now, I wonder if we can get to all 1,500 properties. . . . . 🙂
