Our Little Family

I have been spoiled this week. James is home on Spring Break, and it’s just fabulous to be together as a family all day. Brayden is definitely enjoying the time that James is home–they’ve been keeping busy. Swim class, running, playgrounds, Wegmans runs, projects, gardening . . . all sorts of good stuff.
And as for me. Well, I accomplished one very important project. Operation make-the-attic-useable-again. Seriously, the attic was obnoxiously messy. We have so much junk. I donated a mess of stuff, threw out another mess of stuff and did something called organize the rest of it. It actually looks spacious now. And amazingly neat. I am geeked.
Life with our newest little is amazing. He is so incredibly content. He is also a pretty sleepy baby, which is nice for all of us. When he is awake though, he is full of smiles and coos and adorableness. We went for his two month checkup the other day. He is a teeny tiny peanut compared to Brayden–who weighed exactly three pounds more than Carter weighs at the exact same age. That is huge! No wonder this one is barely out of newborn clothes! But he hasn’t dropped too much percentile-wise since his two-week and one month weights. He’s just plain little. I can handle that. A cute little bundle. Who is all mine.

With a bit of a push in the right direction from my mom–and a little motivation called “i will buy your curtains for you”, we put up some window treatments. Finally. It only took a year. If anybody else wants to purchase some decorating items for my house, I will gladly use them. I’m accepting donations of all kinds. This includes mothers, friends, cousins, sister-in-laws and perfect strangers.
Carter is into his hands. They are his best friend. He sucks on them as if they were a lollipop.
But he can hold only onto things that I put into his hands for all of about two seconds before they fall out. I don’t think he has the concept down yet.
He smiles more than I’ve ever seen a baby smile before. I have a love affair with those smiles. They are magic. The coos are like sprinkles on the top. Perfectly sweet.
Brayden is getting used to his big brother role. I fall in love with him more every day. He is my first little love. A product of my bigger love with his daddy. He helps make our family perfectly complete. Just the four of us. Me and my boys.
