Opposites: A Mini Lesson

Today’s Mini-Lesson:

My two boys are complete opposites.  Carter is totally into nature and big bugs. . . which if you read my blog often, you will know that a big bug to Carter might just be a little ant.  He loves going for walks and picking up sticks.  I don’t think he can ever tire of sticks.

Brayden was, and still is totally petrified of bugs.  He totally missed the boy boat on that one.  He never really loved digging in the dirt or playing with trucks.  His love of trains phase came and went in about six months.

Carter is also totally enthralled with airplanes.  Our house is almost directly underneath the path that airplanes take as they are landing at the airport.  Literally, there is an airplane that goes by every five minutes.  And they are pretty low too.  All day long, even when we are inside, Carter says, Isen. Epane. “Listen. Airplane.”  He says hi to them.  He says bye to them.  His little face lights up every time just as enthusiastically as the time before.

Carter is pretty talented when it comes to kicking a ball.  But his interested in balls and sports isn’t quite as extensive as Brayden’s was.  I got a kick out of Carter today as he took a golf club, and was hitting a ball off of a tee with a one-armed swing.
I dug through my picture files and found this one of Brayden, when he was just a couple months older than Carter.  He could’ve done that all day.

One thing that is the same?  My love for the two of them.  Always and forever.
