Not quite as planned . . .

Our Thanksgiving “vacation” didn’t go quite as we planned for it to go. We were totally excited to get to be visiting James’ siblings and their families. We left right after school on Wednesday and made great time–less than seven hours. Thanksgiving Day was wonderful. Rachelle made great food 🙂 I made my grandma’s stuffing recipe for the first time, and I think it turned out not too shabby for never making it before. Brayden had a great day and LOVED hanging out with his cousins. So far, all still as planned. . .
Friday came and I got whomped with some sort of sickness, making me feel like I had gotten run over by a truck. I literally laid down or slept for two days. It was awful!! We hardly get to see James’ family, and then to be completely bogged down by being sick was just NOT what I had planned. There were so many things that we wanted to do that we didn’t get to do. Watch our nephew play soccer, take family pictures, do any kind of Black Friday shopping, socialize, eat Papa Gino’s pizza!, candle pin bowl instead of watching everyone else do it, stay another day, etc. We ended up leaving a day early because of how yucky I felt. I was (and still am) totally bummed about it all. I only took pictures on Thursday–my camera didn’t even leave the bag the rest of the time, which is a big shame.
Anyways, I do have to say that Brayden had a wonderful trip. He is still talking about all of the things that he did. I’m glad my being under the weather didn’t affect his trip at all. And my dear James was wonderful to me the entire time . . . I’m glad we brought him along 🙂
