Never Dull

There’s never a dull moment in these parts.  I find myself sitting at Dunkin Donuts right now, since I had to drop Carter off for his second orientation day at preschool for just an hour.  Not really enough time to make it worth going all the way back home for.  So I ran into the post office and then made a pit stop to sit for a couple of minutes.  It’s only 10:00 am and I’ve already been up for five hours.  I drove Brayden to school and realized that there were holes in the knees of his pants (the pants in the pictures below), so we went back home and changed his whole outfit.  Thankfully we only live thirty seconds from school.  After dropping him off, Carter announced that he forgot his Curious George, and to home we go again to pick George up.  After dropping Carter off at preschool, I made my way to the post office where I had to mail a variety of items, one of which had a prepaid label from an Amazon return.  The man at the post office told me I couldn’t mail it there–UPS, he says.  And with his accent that I really couldn’t understand one bit, he told me that there was a dropbox at the Chippoi.  I asked him to repeat.  You know. . . Chippoi, he says, as he points toward a Westerly direction. UPS box on one side.  FedEx box on other side.  I said Okay, thanks! Even though I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. Chippoi.  Hmmm.  I sat in the parking lot of the post office and typed in UPS dropbox into my phone.  Five minutes later, which seemed like an eternity, because phones never work quickly when you actually want them to, I solved the mystery.  Triple A.  Chippoi.  Same thing, right?

And Dunkin Donuts isn’t as relaxing as it sounds.  Gone are the days where I can sit and enjoy a nice iced coffee.  Now I sip on my coffee while rocking a car seat with one hand, selecting and editing images with the other and simultaneously keeping an eye on the time so that I don’t leave my middle son wondering where I am if I’m a couple minutes late for pickup.

Ahhh–the relaxing joys of motherhood!
