I was hired as someone’s assistant–yaaay! One of my friends from Roberts is a wedding photographer and saw some of my pictures on the blog–she hired me for a wedding last Saturday to be her assistant. I was so excited for the opportunity, although very nervous. I still have so much to work on, but I was hopeful that I would be able to produce some good photos to add to the ones she took. Still, I struggle with the inside pictures. . . getting the kinks out of using my new flash has been tough. Also, I think a new lens is in the works–I shoot with the ones that came with my camera, and if you know a few things about photography, then you will understand that cheap lenses don’t go wide enough with their f-stops. Mine only goes to about 4.0, and I’d love one that could go to 1.8 or 2 so that I can shoot a little better in low light. Also, I ran completely out of memory space on my cards before the night was over, so I’ve already gone out and picked up a few more while they were on sale at Staples. Hopefully I won’t run into that problem again. 🙂 I’m really looking forward to continuing a journey into this wedding photography thing. I’ve enjoyed it tremendously so far.
