On a starting note, a few people have asked what my friends are having (yesterday’s blog post).  I didn’t share yesterday because she hadn’t yet told friends and family–but believe it or not–their FOURTH daughter is on the way.  Poor, poor Nate. He will be sadly outnumbered.  They are going to have to get a couple of male birds or something to even out the score.

On to the next topic– a clean house.  Since we’ve moved, for some odd reason, I have tried to keep my house much cleaner.  I know it’s not possible, of course, to have all things clean at all times.  But in this house, I actually clean consistently, as opposed to merely just trying to straighten things up in our last house.  I admit, my office is clearly always messy.  And our bedroom most of the time needs a little bit of work.  But the kitchen is the one place that I can actually keep clean, nearly every day.  And I sweep my kitchen about three times a day.  I wipe off my kitchen table.  I clean the cupboards and the microwave and the dirty marks on the floor.

We’ve put away A LOT of toys–they are all in the crawl space.  I’m not saying that we still don’t have a lot, but compared to in the past, it’s a big improvement.  Our family room gets picked up mostly every night.  Same with our living room.  I no longer keep all of our day’s outside toys littered all over the driveway.  At our old house, it looked like a daycare happened, and everything just got left out.  (Our backyard is another story. . . but at least you can’t see that mess from the road!)

I think it may be the novelty of something new.  But let’s hope the habit sticks.
