Lured by the word free that my friend Sarah and I read in our mom’s group newsletter, we decided to check out the opening weekend of a farm that is about twenty minutes from us–in redneckville.  We packed up our dinners on Saturday night and headed over there after nap time.  James and I half expected it to be packed–James later told me he thought there would be like three hundred people there.  Turns out, we were terribly wrong–and it ended up being one of the most fun evenings we’ve had in awhile.  We pulled up–our little two vehicle caravan.  Ten of us in tote.  James looked at me and said, ummmm.  Are you sure you had the right day?   The place was deserted.

But never fear. . . we weren’t wrong.  I just guess no one else wanted to be there on a Saturday night at dinner time when it was only fifty degrees out.  So turns out we had that entire jumping pillow ALL to ourselves.  Literally, not another soul around.  Just us and that amazing, hilariously fun jumping pillow.  It normally costs $10.50 a person (over two) to enter into the “mini back 40” area, and thankfully, it was free.  And totally worth every penny.

After the kids tired of the pillow, we fed the four goats about three hundred dandelions instead of sticking our hard earned quarters in the machine to buy goat food.  Not only did we help the farm out by weeding for them, but we fed their goats for them as well.

I think the evening could be considered a success.  Private date with our great friends and lots of giggles and happiness to go around.

And you don’t have to tell me.  I know you’re jealous of my sweet moves.  I got air baby.
