Rochester, NY Photographer | A Bristol Harbor Wedding

In the past few years, it’s very rare for me not to have met the bride or groom before the wedding day. But when the couple lives in Utah, and family members are also all over the map, there’s a good chance that it will happen. So I walked into Maureen and Jeff’s wedding, meeting them for the very first time. It’s an honor for me to capture a friend’s wedding day and it’s always nice to know that a friend trusts you–but when it’s someone who has never met you, it makes it even more special. Someone whom I have never met trusts me enough to capture their most important memories. Such an awesome responsibility.

I enjoyed so much about Maureen & Jeff’s day. The scenery at Bristol Harbor was just breathtaking–it sits atop a hill facing Canandaigua Lake and it’s just so pretty. It rained on us for a brief time, but we lucked out and it stopped just in time for our pictures, thank goodness! I was also thrilled with all of the gorgeous images that my second shooter Olya snagged as well. Now that I have officially stopped shooting weddings, I will be sending many her way.

The couple was so down to earth and fabulous. They were laid back and ready to have fun, and I always love that kind of personality. The bride had a couple of sisters as well, and I kind of found myself wanting to be a part of their family by the end of the day. They just all had smiles that seemed they could brighten anyone’s day and looked like they were having so much fun with each other.

I especially loved that Maureen and Jeff were okay with us sneaking them away from the party for a few minutes to grab a few last pictures with the gorgeous view. Those are my favorites from the day. They were full of laughter and silliness and they made photographing them so much fun.
