Took these yesterday, but ran out of time to post them.

By the end of the week, we will have had six days in a row over seventy degrees.  I think we’ll all be a little thrown off when the weather returns to normal next week and we are left with forties and fifties.  In the meantime, we are trying to take advantage of the warmth–but this literally means that we have to TEACH our kids how to play outside.  I know this sounds bizarre, but truly, they are terrible at it.  Carter, because he’s not done it very much since he is still pretty little.  But Brayden, just because he’s Brayden.  And he loves electronics–and he asks multiple times a day to do something electronic–weather it’s to watch something, play the wii, play the iPod, play on the computer.  I tell him no about fifty times a day, and that’s only a slight exaggeration.  Either I’m saying no to that or saying no to a tenth snack.

So now that the warm is here, at least temporarily, we are trying to reacquaint him to the outdoors.  Which is actually no easy task.  Truthfully, he just doesn’t know HOW to play, especially not independently.  So jumping for five minutes on the trampoline by himself is nearly torture to him.  And forget about collecting things outside or kicking around a soccer ball or pretending the swing set is a pirate ship.  He has no imagination.  It’s really hard actually–I hope that Carter turns out a little better in this area and can teach him a thing or two!

And then Brayden can rub off on him in the eating department!
