Lifetime Promise

I’ve been married to James for approximately three thousand seven hundred seventy seven days. Almost thirty eight hundred days of spending my life with this one other human who I made this crazy lifetime promise to. And I wouldn’t change it for the world. I can only pray that we continue to hold this promise sacred, as it was intended to be.

My sister-in-law wrote this post (well, a lot longer ago than I thought). I guess that means I have a great memory!  She talks about how there are a number of relationships in our lives, but only ONE of them was designed to be permanent–your marriage. Sure, spend quality time with your children- play with them, imagine with them, read to them. That’s so incredibly important. But don’t forget the one being in this world who is meant to stay with you until one of you is no longer on this Earth.  Invest in each other. Confide in each other. Be completely transparent with each other.

A friendly reminder for you. And for myself as well.

I’m hoping for another twenty thousand days side by side with my soulmate. Better get to work!
