Leg Godt- Play Well

Today I looked up a few things about Lego. Did you know that the name lego is derived from the Danish language- “Leg Godt” means play well.

Lego’s motto is “det bedste er ikke for godt” which roughly means “only the best is good enough”.   I think their motto is strange. But the meaning of the name lego is spot on. When my boys play legos, I feel like they are playing well. They are staying away from electronics. . . they are using their imagination, and I am always thrilled to see them constructing something.

When we went down to Florida, we decided to make our second hike to Legoland. We went two years ago during our visit–Carter was a little on the young side for it, and Brayden was just getting into legos. This time around though–they both loved the whole thing. One day definitely wasn’t enough time there. Perhaps next year we can take an overnight trip when the new Legoland Hotel is complete.

There is the perfect combination of rides, shows and play areas for the kids. We definitely ran out of time at park closing-7 pm came quickly.

Bonus part of the day for us: We found a baby care center complete with a microwave to warm up Sawyer’s milk. Our day was saved!
