There’s nothing itty bitty about our babies.  But four weeks after Sawyer has been in this world, he’s now definitely itty bitty.  Starting at 9lbs, 2 oz, dropping down to 8 lbs flat and then taking a solid week to get the ball rolling, he’s now only between the 20th-30th percentile for wee ones his age.  We took him in this past Friday to get an idea at how things were going, and it looks like for the ten days prior to our appointment, he’s been steadily growing.  Thank goodness. . . we were getting worried.  He’s still not up to his birth weight, but according to the doctor, based on what he’s seen, there’s no longer any need to panic.

It’s funny to me that so many people joked about how he was going to be so big, he wasn’t even going to need newborn clothes at all. And here we are, almost a month old, and he’s still in them.

And he’s been smiling for the past week.  A precious, make you want to melt kind of smile.  I just can’t seem to catch it on camera!
