Hump Day Nuggets |The Last April Hump Day

It’s amazing what the warm weather does for my soul. Mind you, it’s only 59 degrees. But the sun is shining (two days in a row!) and it feels like summer. No lie. I was out about an hour ago pushing around a seed spreader with fertilizer in short sleeves and being barefoot (James, just ignore the barefoot part–I know you just shook your head at me).

The sun makes me want to run around and do a million things at once! It raises my level of ambitiousness to a millionth degree! I think I’m going to start losing weight! I can’t wait to get some mulch! I’m going to go and attack that pile of bills on my desk! Let’s plan a trip to Disney! How about washing the car? Pulling some weeds? Getting our garden planted?

Whoa there sister. . . hold yer horses. One thing at a time.

Today I went to a thrift store to find a pair of grey baseball pants for my son’s team. They are professionals after all, so they must all wear the SAME color pants. Never mind the two pairs of perfectly good black baseball pants we have. Grey is the new black. And so out I went. And jackpot . . .not only did I find a pair of GREY pants that were also UNDER ARMOUR for $5.99, but I also scored said seed spreader that was mentioned above and a patio coffee table thing that just needs a couple of chairs to accompany it. And disclaimer on the seed spreader. . . now that I look it up online, and read the comments, I see why someone donated it! Ha. Glad I bought it for a tenth of the price it was new.

Sawyer’s hand is already on the mend. We had it wrapped for two days and took the wrapping off this morning. The blisters are healing well and I think we are just completely relieved that our original idea of how bad the burns were and how long it was going to take them to heal was not the reality of it, thank goodness. We imagined both of his hands being wrapped up for well over a week and having to feed him and pretty much him being miserable for a long while. Turns out that was not the case at all. Praise the Lord!

And that concludes this edition of hump day nuggets and random thoughts on this Wednesday. 🙂
