Just when I think I’m doing pretty well staying on top of things, I remember that I haven’t blogged all week. When one race horse is doing well, another one always is lagging behind–somewhere.
Small victories for me this week:
-Making a real dinner yesterday! It may not mean much to you, but it was big time for me. Cheesy stuffed breaded chicken. Real mashed potatoes. (and well, we don’t have to mention the velveeta mac and cheese and the can of cranberry sauce that went along with the meal–at least two things were “real” food and made from scratch). Tonight. . . Tacos! But I don’t really count that as making a real meal for some reason.
-Making my bed every day. Sure. . . I do make my bed every single day of the year. But I’m counting it as a small victory anyways, because it makes me feel good about myself.
-Building a fort for my kids out of these. We got our original set from my brother for the kids for Christmas a couple of years ago, and I found what I am calling an “expansion pack” (i.e. the same exact thing) at Savers for less than $2. Shhhh. . . don’t tell Chad I found it for so cheap. Well, no matter–now we can build much bigger forts, since we now have a giant eight year old.
-Having the week off from sessions–I know this isn’t really a small victory, but it’s sure helping me keep on top of my weekend sessions, which have been super busy. Darn you, daylight savings! Nobody can pull of a 3:30 pm session–and I can’t either, since my kids get off of the bus at 4!
Hope you’re having a great week. Two more days till the weekend–hooray!
