House Bound

It’s still snowing here.  Since Saturday, straight.  Unless James is doing the driving, I don’t go out in the snow.  The only exceptions to that rule this week were taking Brayden to school.  Other than that, house bound, baby.
So we’ve been playing.  Reading.  Creating.  Watching.
To my complete joy, Brayden loves playing out in the snow.  This is great–he never even played really well outside in the summer, unless someone was out there entertaining him.  But it’s different with the snow.  Maybe because it’s still all so new to him.  Or because there’s an infinite number of things you could do out in it.  Whatever the reason, it’s wonderful.  Too bad it takes ten minutes to get him ready and then after playing he comes barreling back in the house looking like a snowman.  We don’t have a good place to take off and hang up snowy, bulky clothes. . . so our kitchen has been turned into a dumping ground.
Oh well.  I’ll take a happy engaged child any day over a spotless kitchen.
Happy snow everyone!  (this is said with complete and 100% sarcasm).
