Our team had a tournament on Sunday, and our little munchkins took first place out of twelve teams! We played in a 14’s division tournament as well (if you read a few posts ago, you’ll remember that our girls are all mostly 12, with one 11-year-old and one 13-year-old in the mix). They played so well and really made us proud with their hustle and their FIGHT! We were down a few times in a couple of matches and pulled off some really good wins. My favorite was when we were playing a tie-breaking third set in one of the matches and the score was 11-14. . . I called a time out. The other team was only one point away from winning the whole match. After the time out, the other team missed their serve, which made the score 12-14 and then we ended up gaining some momentum and beating them 16-14! It was really an “edge of your seat” kind of game. The girls played six matches and didn’t lose any of them 🙂 It was a rather long day, and by the end, I was so tired from standing up on the side of the court for so long. But we had a great time. I love little athletes!!
