This past weekend, I had 47 hours with no responsibilities.  Three of my wonderful friends and I went away for a couple of days to spend some time with each–we’ve done it four times in the past three years.  It’s glorious.  My friend Kari’s in-laws own a house on one of the Finger Lakes, so we even get to lodge for free.  Even more glorious!  And this time of year is just gorgeous.   

We spent some time shopping, a lot of time eating, watched a movie, ate some more, talked a whole lot.  And I slept 17 1/2 hours in two nights.  Wow.  

These friends have been some of my closest friends the past five years.  It’s so nice to be able to share, be transparent and to know that you are completely loved.  We don’t gossip about each other behind backs. We tease and make jokes about each other in love.  We pray for each other.  We are a net.  They are amazing.  And I thank my God for the gift of friendship.
