Florida Days- Part I

Florida is HOT in August.  We’ve visited five out of the past six years–every time in August, and every time we go, it is nothing but 90’s all day.  I can never figure out how to dress.  I people watched a bit and noticed that many people wore the type of clothing that I think people would wear here in early Autumn.  I guess they dress this way because most of the time they hang out in sub-frigid air conditioned places.  One minute I would be dripping with sweat outside, and then next minute I had goose bumps because I had just walked into the coldest air conditioning EVER.
James’ parents live in Florida.  We spent the week there hanging out and doing a variety of Florida kind of things to do.  We golfed, visited a couple of beaches, ate a lot of ice cream, went to a children’s museum and swam in Auntie Boo’s pool.  (Auntie Boo is James’ sister, Robin–we lovingly call her Boo, but since I didn’t grow up in the Chase household, I have no idea where that came from!).

My boys are two pretty easy going, loving kids–so it didn’t take them long to fall head over heels.  Carter especially grew to love Auntie Boo more quickly than I ever would’ve imagined, and I was thrilled that he wanted someone other than me!

By far one of my favorite places when we visit, is Sanibel Island.  The beach is filled with millions of shells.  They are everywhere.  And they intrigue me for some reason.  I searched high and low for shells with little holes in them. . . I brought them back home with us and I am going to make a shell mobile with Brayden soon.

More to come tomorrow–including why Tampa Airport is the best airport by far, and a special person that I had the opportunity to meet (although since I blabbed about it already AND posted a picture on facebook, it’s not really a secret anymore).
