Five Things in May that I Loved.

1. The Webster movie theater. James and I have a date night once a month. I have a hard time not wanting to go to the movies every single time because our theater is hands down amazing. Clean. Spacious. Reclining leather chairs. Weeknight evening prices of $7.50. Everyone who has been there knows that once you go there, you’ll have a hard time going to any other theater. It’s just that good.

2. Anthem Lights Pandora Station. Anthem. Lights. A.maz.ing. The end. I love this medley particularly.

3. Red Lobster’s four course meal. Going back to the date night that James and I had in May . . . we are currently trying to lose a bit of weight (as probably half of you are also trying to do!). And we don’t often spend a lot at restaurants. . . we’re normally coupon kind of people. But we decided to have one nice meal in May and go out and stuff ourselves full–and that’s just what we did. Soup, salad, cheddar bay biscuits, entree and dessert? You had me at hello.

4. 600 ex-rt speedlites (this one is for my photography peeps)- I just invested in some new lighting gear for weddings. I shot my first wedding on Sunday using the new lighting, and I loved it. Looking forward to doing great things with the off camera lighting set up and then getting James all situated with it as well.

5. Parades. We watched our town’s memorial day parade yesterday morning, and the boys loved it. It was short and sweet and Brayden made me smile nearly the entire time. He wanted to make an Uncle Sam hat, so James helped him made one out of a cardboard box. It was too big, so we had to shove plastic bags inside of it so that the hat didn’t fall over his whole head. James also told my stepdad and I that Betsy Ross learned how to fold a piece of fabric in such a way that she could make one cut through it and make a perfect star. We didn’t believe him, so he looked it up online and then did it with a piece of paper. Voila. . . the star on the front of Brayden’s Uncle Sam hat was made by folding one piece of paper and making ONE cut through it. Magic. It made for a very creased star, and still made a little doubtful that you could do it with a small piece of fabric, but what do I know?
