This is Belle.

She might be the best cat ever made for rough, little boys.  She is tolerant.  She is gentle.  And she is loved so much by Carter.  He chases her around the house, hits her with things (we’re working on this . . . ), squeezes her with his enthusiastic hugging and smiles every time he sees her.  No lie.  The boy loves our cat.

And she literally takes everything from him and doesn’t even do anything that makes me the least bit nervous.  When he squeezes her in a headlock, she kind of just meows a little funny until I rescue her.  She runs away when she’s had too much.  And I can tell she really likes it when he pets her ears.

I can also tell she really likes it when it’s time for him to go to bed.
