Meet Evie. A  little girl who is changing the face of beauty.

Words from Evie’s Mom:

Evie is my third. I always say she was out pleasant surprise. Two was a great number and we were happy there and then, SURPRISE! We found out we were pregnant with a third. I didn’t know how far along we were. While we were at the dating ultrasound (at six weeks if you can believe it) it was discovered that there was something ‘abnormal’ about our baby. We went through weeks of waiting, emotional rollercoasters, and countless ‘what ifs’ before we got our diagnosis of Trisome 21 at 16 weeks. We were told that we had ‘options’ but we knew the only real option we had was to welcome this baby into our family with open arms. She was already a little sister, a daughter and a grand daughter. Once we learned she was a girl she was immediately Evelyn Laurie or, our little Evie Lou.

I tell her every day that she is my light and my happiness. She makes me laugh out loud more than anyone or anything I’ve ever come in contact with. She is pure joy in human form and I wouldn’t change her for the world.

Oh the places you will go, Evie!

It was a pleasure to do a special photo session with some local kids who have Down syndrome. I am hoping to spread awareness locally in addition to adding my own flair to the campaign, Changing the Face of Beauty.
