Coloring Day and Night

This is teacher appreciation week, so Brayden went to school with a single flower for his teacher.  All the kids in the class were supposed to bring one, so the teacher had a nice little arrangement of random flowers.  Brayden appreciates people every day though–he’s our sensitive first born.  His love language is “coloring/drawing pictures for people”.  I think Gary Chapman missed that one when he wrote The Five Love Languages.  Brayden brought a picture he colored yesterday to school for his teacher’s son, who just broke his finger.  Today he brought page he drew with Batman and Two Face for his teacher’s husband (who I’m sure he’s never met).  He has a stack of about fifteen pictures that we are supposed to mail to his cousins in New Hampshire.  He went to play with a friend this morning and brought a picture to give to him as well.  He’d rather color than play outside.  Today, I hopped in the shower while he was coloring, and I told him he could play the Wii at 7:45 am before he went to play with his friend (because today is a Wii day).  I returned downstairs, well past 7:45 and he was still drawing–he shrugged his shoulders when I told him it was past the time that I told him he could play the Wii.  I wanted to finish my picture, He said.  He colors in the car, he colors at church, he colors at the store.  I’d say he’s got a fair dose of Uncle Chad in him.
