Words from Shea’s Mom-

Our beautiful Shea was diagnosed at birth with Down syndrome. Needless to say, it was a surprise for my husband and I. With Shea’s diagnosis and being first time parents we weren’t sure what to expect for her future, let alone ours.

Shea is the best thing that has ever happened to us we soon realized. She has given our life purpose. We know we are meant to be Shea’s parents and that she chose us. Shea’s spirit makes us believe she is an angel on earth. We want to help “change the face of beauty” and see more people like Shea in advertising, entertainment, and modeling just like they are in everyday life. We want our world to know that being different is okay and beautiful.  We have some amazing people helping us do that. Research and Design, a local clothing store has help create a shirt for Shea to spread awareness about Down Syndrome. Proceeds from each shirt purchased is donated to The Changing the Face of Beauty organization. We have created the  #SheaStrong in honor of Shea.  Trendy Bubs is an internet kids clothing company that uses children of all disabilities as their models, including Shea.

In Shea’s first year of life we have met so many amazing people that we probably wouldn’t have met if we didn’t have Shea. We are encouraged by Shea everyday and the people that have helped with our hopes and dreams for her. We know that her future will be bright. She is truly a strong little person who will continue to change people’s lives everyday of her life. Hopefully you will get to meet Shea one day and see what we are talking about.
