I had a few issues with one of my hard drives a few months back, and after sorting out the problem, I realized that I had never blogged Cathie & Andrew’s engagement session! I enjoyed getting the images together for this blog post because it made me remember that there is hope for the beautiful days again! For the sunshine, and the happiness of color all around. We did Cathie & Andrew’s session at the end of autumn last year. The days were getting shorter, the last of the yellow leaves were getting ready to fall. We managed to find a few trees that were still gloriously yellow.

I remember leaving for the session. The skies were threatening and gray. I asked Cathie if she thought they’d like to reschedule, but they had both rearranged their work schedules to allow for our session on that day. She had gotten special permission to leave early. So, we were going to see what happened and go for it anyways. I pulled out of my driveway, and it literally started pouring. I almost panicked during the fifteen minute drive to my location. I had my finger on the call button a couple times, getting ready to call the whole thing.  But, James encouraged me just to go with it and see what happened. It was unlikely that it would pour the WHOLE time. I arrived and we started shooting . . . the rain luckily had slowed on my drive over. It did sprinkle a bit during the first part of our session. But then something glorious happened . . . the clouds opened up, and for ten amazing minutes, the sun bursted forth and gave us some beautiful light. I hurried Cathie and Andrew over to this tiny yellow tree across the way, and we were able to snag the first image in the post. There is nothing quite like an image with golden yellow leaves and a perfect sun flare in the background. Thank you sun!!

On my drive home, the sky was as black as could be. So thankful we were able to get our session in!
