We went to Buffalo for the first part of Brayden’s birthday. In the morning, we visited the Aquarium of Niagara–which isn’t impressive in the least bit–but we got a great groupon for the aquarium which includes admission into our zoo here in Rochester, so it was worth it. And it was nice to visit the aquarium once, though I’m not sure we’d go back more than once this year. By far the best part was their Sea Lion show, which was cute for the boys and they loved it.
Then, we stopped at a bakery to find the birthday boy’s cake request: Yellow cake with chocolate frosting. It’s not a very easy cake to come by. I am all for making boxed cakes with a big old tub of frosting, but my mom always likes to buy birthday cakes, which is totally fine with me–luckily we found one at the bakery that sort of matched the request.
And of course, some fun gifts were opened. A little bit of art. A little bit of electronics. And a little bit of toys. He totally digs being six.
Part II to come.
