Meghan and David were married on a fun date- 8.10.12.  Meghan was a bridesmaid in a wedding I shot last summer and she told me how she really wanted this as a wedding date (though at that time, she wasn’t engaged yet!).  But a few months later she sent me an email saying that Dave had proposed and she was so excited to start looking for unique venues for the date!  Meghan’s family has grown very dear to me this past summer– James and I shot the wedding of her sister in May. They are a lot of fun–they are all gorgeous.  And a very interesting fact, Meghan’s mom is a long time family friend of my mother and she babysat me while my parents went on a trip when I was only six months old.  I’m not sure I saw her for probably over twenty years–but low and behold, she has three gorgeous daughters–two of which got married in the same summer and wanted me to shoot their wedding.  I was truly honored.

I loved how fun the wedding was from beginning to end.  Bright colors everywhere.  Lots of touches of Ireland throughout the wedding.  And Dave is a huge Broncos fan, so their shoes were a reflection of that.  Meghan’s purse was also a perfect touch to the day–her mom had made it out of parts of her own wedding dress from many years ago.  The reception took place at The Hotel Lafayette in Buffalo, which had just finished being restored to it’s original character.  It was gorgeous in the ballroom. . . large, bright and airy.  Elegant.  Timeless.  It was all perfect.  Meghan definitely could see the vision of the finished product, because I know when they went to look at the hotel, it was not anywhere close to looking how it did on the wedding day.

One last thing. . . we woke up to a forecast of 90% chance of rain the entire day.  I spent about an hour researching last minute places that might have some sort of archway or overhang to get in some outside pictures.  Turns out, not a single drop fell the entire day.  What a blessing!
