This past weekend, we ran Downtown in the knick of time to see this amazing display. Apparently they have a yearly display–we will be sure not to miss it in future years!
According to their website (Airigami.com. . . a clever enough name in itself), they “are artists who specialize in creative content made entirely out of balloons. Our projects range from small individual sculptures to enormous record-breaking installations”. They have a wide variety of things that they do in the area–I was truly blown away by the whole display. And the fact that it was free made it even that much sweeter. What blew me away even more were the “extras”–the educational displays on how they achieved something so large by breaking it down in pieces. . . the videos that they had playing showing the work in progress. . . the glass display cases showing all the different types of balloons they used. . . and the list could go on.
Bravo, Rochester, for making such a fun, free, family activity. Here is the gallery to see some of the exhibit details.
