A Day in the Life of an Eight Month Old

I’m not going to lie. Some days in this household are trying. I have yet to figure out my baby–some days he kicks and plays and crawls around like a happy go lucky little guy, and other days like today, he’s crying and screaming and drooling all over everything. Since he’s been army crawling everywhere, and pretty much on his stomach constantly, I cleaned up baby vomit about twenty times yesterday on our family room rug that is barely over a year old. Putting a blanket down doesn’t work because he’s off it in five seconds flat. A bib is no use either since it only works if he’s sitting up. So, I guess until he starts crawling for real, I’m destined to follow him around with a thing of baby wipes. But, there is good in our days as well. Watching him explore this world is incredible–now that everything is new to him, because he can get to anything he spots now. If something catches his attention, he goes to check it out. If it’s anything that can be picked up, in the mouth it goes. And of course, so begin the days of making sure the little objects are off of the floor. This is about two months earlier than I wanted to worry about it.

And because it’s important to remember our every day life with this little third son of ours, I spent some time a few days ago doing a personal project. And capturing some video of some things I wanted to remember. Here’s a two minute recap of a day in Sawyer’s life . . .
