A bit o’ dinner entertainment

Some months it seems that we are running around like chickens with no heads.  Each day presents itself a million things that need to be attended, get done, checked off of some list.  Soccer for Carter, Art for Brayden, school, bible study, MOPS, sessions and weddings.  And I have found that I am working a full time job.  This month also added two more challenges, that being me out of town for 13 of the 31 days of the month.  The second trip will be with our whole family.  On Wednesday, I didn’t see James at all and just yesterday, he went to work all day, had a dentist appointment right after and I had to drop the kids off like a sack of potatoes at the dentist so I could do an engagement session.  I got home when it was nearly dark and the kids were almost ready for bed.  That’s just how it’s been.  And we are finding that as long as we are in it together, it’s okay.  And we can do it.

But we know it’s important to get out once and awhile and do something with all of us together.  So the other day we went and redeemed a groupon that I had gotten for a local Japanese Hibachi restaurant.  Brayden was intrigued the entire time, and it was both fun and delicious.  Carter was a little more tentative about the whole experience, and seemed to think that plugging his ears would help him stay safe from the giant fire that was part of the “entertainment”.  We’ll have to work on that concept 🙂

Brayden woke up the next morning and ask for a pair of chopsticks so that he could pretend he was a Hibachi chef and toss them around super fast like the spatulas.
